Residency Launch Event

Over 80 people gathered in Betty Woodman’s former studio to support the launch of the Woodman Artist Residency.  Artists, admirers, old and new friends and the curious came to hear Charles Woodman describe the history of the residency.  Artist Robert Kushner, one of pilot-artists who tested the function of the residency, described his amazing experience working in the Woodman’s studios.

Finally, Executive Director Gordon Knox described the program, the unique qualities of the Woodman Artist Residency and the exciting first group of artists selected to spend time in the hills outside Florence over the next few years.  “It is an inspiring place for artists of every discipline to focus, work and be inspired.”

As part of this fundraising kickoff, dozens of Betty’s functional ceramics were offered as gifts for donations. A big THANK YOU to everyone who came and contributed. More gifts are available online as gifts with tax-deductible donations! Please visit the online gifts here.
